The UCSF Office of Alumni Relations welcomes Shawn Becker, MD ’94, who will share his experience over the last 25 years working with fellow scientists, doctors, pharmacists, and nurses launching and growing innovative health care technologies and services.

About our guest speaker: At his consulting firm, Silvercat Advisors, Dr. Becker combines clinical insights and business acumen to provide strategic reimbursement and market access counsel for innovative medical device, diagnostic, and digital health companies. In his career journey, he has served as a management consultant, worked for a genomic tools company, and served as a member of executive-management teams for several pre-IPO medical device and diagnostic companies. Dr. Becker also co-founded PlanetRx.com, an early leader among online pharmacies.
A graduate of Harvard College, and UCSF Medical School, Dr. Becker completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital before transitioning into health care consulting and entrepreneurship.

All students, residents, fellows, and postdocs are welcome to attend and learn more about his experience and his advice for a career as a physician entrepreneur.
